Pike’s (local nursery store) gave away lady bugs this weekend for Earth Day! Each customer could get 150 ladybugs with a purchase all weekend.
We have a trough in our side yard that needs some work. The ground has settled some & there is some bare dirt. We’ve got some landscaping plans in the bigger picture but for now, we need ground cover. It’s full sun 8+ hours a day over there, which in the Georgia heat means it requires sun-tolerant plants.
At Pike’s we picked up some annual sweet potato vines in a couple different colorways & some spreading petunias in a deep magenta. Oh and ladybugs!
Ladybugs are helpful in the garden because they eat aphids, which are a nuisance pest in the home garden. This evening at dusk K & I released our ladybugs. She had a lot of fun with the little bugs crawling up and down her fingers and arms.
